The bild.sprachen -  Fair for Applied Photography will take place this year for the third time on 30 September and 1 October 2011 at the Science Park Gelsenkirchen. The industry platform in the Ruhr region, the largest metropolitan area in North Rhine-Westphalia, offers not only opportunities to present the own photographic ideas and talents, products, or books, she mainly creates networks and contacts and is a platform for discussions, lectures and workshops on current topics related to photography in 2011.
 
During the bild.sprachen – Fair for Applied Photography this year the first prize for "Best Visual Languages 2011" will be awarded. The photo prize is endowed with 2,500 € and funded by the Foundation of the Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen. It will be awarded among all participating photographers in the fair. A jury of professionals from the communications industry and the agencies, museum directors, marketing professionals, art buyers, publishing professionals, representatives from business, press will choose the most interesting imagery. In an eclectic program questions of contemporary photography and the market will be presented and discussed and accompanied by interesting workshops.

For the first time a catalog will be published, in which all exhibitors will be presented. Visitors can purchase the catalog at the Information Counter.
